Just what we've been up to

This is scripture time with the kids before they go to bed. Daddy gets to do the bed-time routine on most nights. He's a lot quicker at it than I am.

Yay for having roses in the yard. This is what I do with them!

I made these hairbows for Taylor and Maren. It's pretty easy. Believe me, I am not a crafty person, but I'm a wanna-be.

This is the kids at the Fresno Zoo. We are at the Bird Show in this shot. It was pretty sweet, but the kids weren't too thrilled. I'm not sure if they could even see the birds at times, or even cared to see them.

This is what Maren did at the zoo! She's eating, yes eating, someone's Capri Sun. And she's in the dirt. What can I say? She's a number three.

Oh, and look! She has teeth! She cut all four top teeth in about one week. Poor thing.

There's not much that can top her cuteness.

weddings and more weddings

Yay for weddings. Is there anything better on the earth than seeing two people united for all eternity?!! What a happy, happy event. I love weddings. Here's some pics of Robert and Charlotte's wedding:

It was the perfect day for a wedding (much better than my rainy day!)!

The happy couple coming out of the temple to greet their fans!

One of the highlights of the wedding was getting to see and visit with Aunt Bonnie.
We love you, Bonnie!

Aunt Karen and Stephanie, and Mom--great job with the decorations and food!

Dancing! Thinking on the reception I would change one thing. I would have moved my wild children away from the middle of the dance floor to a far, far back corner where they would have been free to dance without stressing me out. I worried about them all night because they were going crazy--running around, screaming, acting like children in the middle of the dance floor (sorry Robert, Charlotte, Aunt Karen, whoever else was offended).

In February, we went to Lani's wedding, and I LOVE the pictures that DeLane took! DeLane is a good photographer. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Aren't they adorable?

Here are some pictures of the reception.

Lani and her brothers! She has five HANDSOME brothers! And...
Spencer is the shortest one (but the cutest, of course)!

My adorable Maren

This is what the children were doing during the reception...eating the M & M's.

All the nieces and nephews.

What great weddings!

Spencer's New Calling

Spencer is now the Scout Master in our ward. He has always been a little leery of this calling, but now that he is the Man, he is excited about it.

I, personally, think this calling will be perfect for him. I think he will do an excellent job and do great things with the boys in our ward.

There is one downfall:

I do not cope with Spencer gone on camp outs very well. I can't sleep. So this is what I traditionally watch when Spencer leaves me.

Ah, what a great movie. A six hour movie. Yes, I will be up most of the night. I will try to sleep through it, but it will most likely be unsuccessful. Spencer has at least one camp-out a month planned. I will have to impose upon my family in Turlock every once in a while to get a good night's rest.

Tomorrow will be interesting. Trying to get through the day with no rest. I can do it!

Snow boots

Grandma DeLane sent the kids snowboots at the end of winter. (yay for D.I. and Grandma's!) We are excited to use them next snowy season! McKay's boots light up! For about a week, I couldn't get McKay to wear anything else. I finally had to hide them from him, and now they are forgotten in a winter box, just waiting to be worn again.

French Bread Pizza

Have you ever had french-bread-pizza? It is delish! You have to try it! Here is the recipe.
(Rachelle, I give you permission to use this in the recipe book you are making)

Ingredients:
1/2 pound ground Italian sausage
1 can pizza or spaghetti sauce
1 loaf french bread
2 cups mozzarella cheese
all the toppings you want (I did pineapple, olives, marinated artichokes, and sauteed onions, mushroom, & bell pepper

In a medium skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in pizza sauce; set aside. Cute bread in half lengthwise, then into eight pieces.
Spread meat sauce on bread; place on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with mozzarella. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Yield: 6-8 servings.

The picture may not look appetizing, but it sure tasted good. Yum. Bon appetit!

Chocolate Dipping Play group

There is a Chocolate Coated Candy "Factory" in Kerman, CA. It is small, but they give little tours to small groups. We took our young preschool to check it out. It was all intriguing, but the best part was the chocolate dipping after the tour. We brought our own snacks to dip in the chocolate. We had pretzels, marshmallows, bananas, apples, and graham crackers. It was yummy.
