sigh of relief

When McKay was graduating preschool, he was interviewed in front of an audience of classmates and their families. The question was, "what do you want to be when you grow up?". McKay's answered gave me a feeling of overwhelming anxiety as to how to raise this boy. He said, "I wanna be a bad guy!"

Now he's in first grade and I felt that he had "grown up" a little since then. I asked him a couple days ago what he wanted to do to make money to take care of his family when he's older. He said, "I want to be a police man".

I was much happier with that answer.

He used to also tell me that he was NOT going to serve a mission. He was going to stay home with me forever! (ah! panic!) Now he's telling me that he wants to help all the bad guys turn to good guys on his mission.

I am so proud of my son. He's growing up.

Boys are so funny. Tyler now wants to be in the military to fight the bad guys. I think all boys are obsessed with "bad guys" in one way or another! Sarah - you need to add my blog to your list! :) theateam-abrams.blogspot.com. I think I sent you an invite a while back so you should be able to log in.
